                             Last blog post!!!!
What did you learn about yourself as a reader from creating and keeeping up with blog posts?
I learned that I love to summarize my blogs and sometimes don't always keep track of the posts. I do read my books but give less detail in my summary or blogs.
In what ways did you benefit from the experience?
How I benefited from this experience is it gave me responsibility. Because, every Friday I had to make sure I posted my blog. The most important way I benefited was I got to express myself. And explore reading in so many ways. This blog kind of helped me grow as a reader. It help me see how much I understood the book. That is how I benefited from this experience.
In what ways can writing online be liberating?  Limiting?
How it was liberating was it can be a way to express yourself. Also since so many people online have read the book I can look at there summaries and ideas and compare it to mine. They might have mistakes and I try to see if I have those mistakes. They sometimes also have incomplete ideas. And some of the comments on their blogs help me improve my ideas. It was also liberating because the internet helped me think about what I should write. That is how it is liberating.
How it was limiting was all the distractions. If I was just writing a blog on paper in class I could just sit down and write without distractions. Also it was limiting because sometimes internet connections would be down. And I am a slow typer But, I am a fast writer. That is how it was limiting.
Do you think that people are more real online or do we create online personalities that project the best of ourselves? Or something else?
I think both. People can be more real online. Like they might be a really passionate writer and only show it online. Also some people create online personalities that project the best in themselves. Or people just show how hey really are.
So writing a blog this year was a lot of fun. Thank you for the experience!

the virgin suicides

Blog post: The virgin suicides
In the book the virgin suicides by Sophia Coppola, is an intense literature of five sisters. These five Lisbon sisters attempt to suicide one by one. While the neighborhood boys are watching them from afar. The first one to attempt suicide was the youngest      Lisbon. She had killed herself on her small kitty pool. Then came Cecilia, and the rest of the Lisbon sisters.
While I read the beginning of this book, I kept thinking why the girls wanted to kill themselves. I though t that it was because of the mother, but not the father. It was said in the story that the father couldn’t understand why the mother was so strict. She wouldn’t hit them or anything, but she didn’t let them hang around with the kids around them. It was almost like they had to be safe wit her.
This story was kind of confusing me but, I think when I finish it all the pieces might come together. I want to know why the girls wanted out from their lives. I know that there is a twist somewhere in the story. I just have to find it!
