One of those hideous books where the mother dies:
In this book the main character is Ruby, the story begins with the mother dying. That’s what made me thought that the title was very similar to the story. This was not the case; there was a whole other twist.
This story really brought out Ruby’s feelings and how she had to adjust many things because her mother died. There were many shocking events. This story seems predictable but it wasn’t. This book was really cool when she learned that she had a movie star father.
If this book had the father’s point of view, it would really change the way the story flows. The author had a really specific and straight foreword theme. I really loved the surprises that I got at the end of the story. I recommend that if you’re looking for a good book to read this would be the one.

In the book, One of those hideous books where the mother dies , you get a lot of what she feels about seeing her father but judging by the title it seems like the story was going to be about the mother dying and stuff. This text sot of makes me think about justice, and what the character feels about not having her father around with her. Now she has to fly over to meet him because her mother died.
I think if justice when I read this text because I don't think its fair that both her parents aren't taking the responsibility of taking care of her, instead 1 of her parents were the mother. I feel bad for ruby the main character, when she was little for her birthday all she wanted was to see her father. when she didn't receive that gift she bursted out in tears. Most kids don't have to cry because there always with them.
I think justice could be served now because the father has to give ruby a place to stay and care for her. ruby has a lot going on in her life, but still it doesn't seem like she felt sorrow for her mom. this story is really sympathetic but still i wished the author had added more about the mother and her death.
all in all, i haven't read the whole book but im going to finish it. The author really gives nothing on how the mom dies so its confusing. i hope the dad shows some justice later in the text too.

Faking 19: the conflict

In this book faking 19, Alex the main character is 17 and her best friend M is too. I think the main conflict in this book would have to be that she is faking her age to be nineteen. The reason is that she really likes this guy named Conner but he's twenty three. So she has to fake her age so that she could be with him. She met him while she was going to Los Angelos with M after school. They were both at a mall and Conner saw her, and after a while of chatting he asked if he wanted to go to an art gallery that just opened. They followed him, without knowing ages. she assumed he was twenty. She had to fake her age when they met again in a different friend's party. The were talking in a room that looked like the cabana, when he had asked her what she was studying. she lied and said some kind of college. Conner sort of doubted her and asked about her age! This is where the tension was building in the story. she had lied and said she was nineteen.
This little white lie was really big. I think in this section Conner sort of thought she was lying but didn't want to be mean. I think even though alex might of thought this was just one small lie, this has a really big impact in their relationship. I feel like Alex is going to start to look older and act older so she could fit in with the older people.
There are many differences of her and Conner. Her family cant afford to pay for college. Conner has already finished college and his family is rich. I don't really think this relationship is going to work out. If she really wanted there relationship to work i think she should just come out clean, rather than her getting busted by him.
Alex has other problem's to worry about like her school work. she has been lacking in  doing her homework, failing classes, and so much more. while before she used to get straight A's. the guidance counselor is really watching her,she thinks all of this lacking leads to using drugs. this has blew alex off, she knew she would never hurt herself that way, neither did M her very best friend.
so now Alex is trying her best to make her relationship with Conner work. what she should be doing is fixing her grades but still she is hesitating. even though she has much to much to worry about its never about herself, its always about what happens with her friends. so Alex is very sweet but she needs to start on her own life first!
